Devil May Cry 2's second hero, a guardian who learns she was built as a demon.

Lucia is one of the two playable protagonists of Devil May Cry 2, fighting alongside Dante. Raised by Matier of the Protectors clan on the island of Vie de Marli as her daughter and apprentice devil hunter, she draws Dante to the island so that Matier can ask him to help stop Arius.

Arius, a businessman and sorcerer, wants to summon the demon Argosax and needs the Arcana, four sacred relics, to do it; Lucia and Dante set out separately to collect them first.

Background

When Lucia finally meets Arius, he tells her that she is one of his own mannequin demons, a defective one that Matier rescued before it could be destroyed, and that the mark χ (Chi) on her shoulder is her real name. Shaken, she still gathers the Arcana, is captured when she goes after Arius alone, and is rescued by Dante. Matier confirms that they are not related by blood but tells her that their bond is deeper than blood, and Lucia joins Dante in the final push against Arius and Argosax.

She is serious and direct about her duty, but kind to Matier and quick to trust Dante; on learning what she is, she even asks him to kill her before she can turn on innocent people. The novel Devil May Cry 5: Before the Nightmare shows her reuniting with Dante on Vie de Marli. Her red hair and white cape were chosen to echo Dante's colours.
