Teen Titans
Sidekicks who formed a team of their own.
The Teen Titans are DC Comics' team of teenage heroes, many of them sidekicks of Justice League members. Created by Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani, the group first appeared in The Brave and the Bold #54 (1964), formed by Kid Flash (Wally West), Robin (Dick Grayson) and Aqualad (Garth), and took the Teen Titans name in issue #60 when Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) joined. The book became a real hit with the 1980s The New Teen Titans by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, which added Cyborg, Starfire and Raven and brought Beast Boy back as Changeling; its high point was "The Judas Contract", in which Terra betrays the team. As members grow up, the original team becomes the Titans, while new generations, among them Tim Drake, Cassie Sandsmark, Bart Allen and Damian Wayne, carry on the Teen Titans name.
