Aquaman
Atlantis's king, half human and half Atlantean.
Aquaman is Arthur Curry, the son of a human lighthouse keeper and the queen of Atlantis, who also goes by the Atlantean name Orin. Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger created him, and he debuted in More Fun Comics #73 (November 1941) as a backup feature before headlining several solo series. In the Silver Age he was a founding member of the Justice League, and from the 1990s writers treated him more seriously, stressing the weight of ruling Atlantis. His supporting cast includes his mentor Nuidis Vulko, his wife Mera and sidekicks such as Aqualad, while his chief enemies are Black Manta and his half-brother Ocean Master. Before the New 52 he carried the Trident of Neptune, given to him by Poseidon. In live action he has been played by Alan Ritchson in Smallville and by Jason Momoa in the DC Extended Universe.
