The Logitech G29 was released in July 2015 as the replacement for the Logitech G27, retaining the internal design and technical specifications of its predecessor. Although Logitech released a successor, the Logitech G923, in August 2020, the G29 remains in production and available for retail. Both the G29 and G923 share a similar exterior design. The wheel features a leather-wrapped steering wheel, two metal paddle shifters, and 18 buttons. The included pedal set has stainless steel pedals with a spiked carpet grip to keep them in position during use. The optional shifter unit contains a gear stick with a six-speed 'H' pattern gearbox, where reverse is selected by pressing down and moving to sixth gear. Unlike previous models (Logitech G25, Logitech G27), the G29 shifter contains no buttons at all.
