The border stream
Two border waters: the river between ThunderClan and RiverClan, and the lake stream where Ashfur was found.
Water marks two of ThunderClan's borders in Warriors. In the old forest a river separates ThunderClan's territory from RiverClan's. In the lake territories a stream marks the border between ThunderClan and WindClan, and it is in that stream that the body of the warrior Ashfur is found in Long Shadows.
Lore & Background
The forest river is where Graystripe of ThunderClan chases a vole onto thin ice, falls in and is pulled out by Silverstream of RiverClan, the start of their forbidden love. It runs through the gorge where Bluestar and the leader of the dog pack go over the edge; Fireheart dives in after her, and her RiverClan kits Mistyfoot and Stonefur help drag her to the bank. At the lake, the patrol on its way to a Gathering finds Ashfur lying in the border stream as if he had drowned, until Leafpool notices the wound in his neck. Because the body lies on the WindClan border, many in ThunderClan suspect a WindClan cat, and Firestar sends a patrol to question Onestar, who denies it.
