Lore & Background
Unlike the first game, it removes base building entirely and puts much more weight on cover, which gives bigger defensive bonuses; lead designer Jonny Ebbert described it as combining the best of the original with the best of Company of Heroes. The Space Marines, Orks, Eldar and Tyranids were playable at launch, and the expansions Chaos Rising (2010) and Retribution (2011) added the Chaos Space Marines and the Imperial Guard.
