Horus began as the paragon of the Primarchs, a warrior whose charisma and tactical genius were unmatched, chosen by the Emperor to lead the Great Crusade. For millennia, he served with unwavering devotion, conquering worlds and imposing order upon chaos. But during a fateful mission on Davin, Horus was mortally wounded and infused with the essence of Chaos by the Dark Gods. This corruption did not strike overnight; it was a slow-acting poison that eroded his trust in the Emperor's secrecy regarding the Imperial Truth and the true nature of the Warp. The subsequent rebellion saw him turn against half of his brothers, igniting a civil war that tore the galaxy apart. He commanded the Traitor Legions with terrifying efficiency, culminating in the siege of Terra itself. In the final confrontation aboard his flagship, the *Vengeful Spirit*, he faced the Emperor and his loyalist brother, Sanguinius, before being defeated by his own brother, Leman Russ, and eventually killed by the Emperor in a duel that ended with both falling into the void of space.
