What ends this period is a storyteller's tale of Lanre's fall and his transformation into Lord Haliax of the Chandrian. Before Kvothe can question him, the Church arrests the storyteller for heresy. Kvothe decides to enter the university, whose Archives may hold what he needs, gathers enough money for clothes and travel, and leaves.
