Kvothe
Innkeeper, musician, arcanist, and the man the stories call Kingkiller.
Kvothe is the central figure of The Kingkiller Chronicle, a notorious adventurer and musician who tells his own life story to a scribe. In the present day he keeps an inn in the village of Newarre under the name Kote. Rumour holds that he killed a king, which earned him the title Kingkiller.
Lore & Background
As a child Kvothe travelled with a troupe of Edema Ruh performers, and his parents trained him as an actor, singer and lute player. The arcanist Abenthy, who joined the troupe, taught him science and sympathy. After the Chandrian killed his parents and troupe, he spent three years as a beggar and thief in Tarbean, then won a place at the university despite lacking money. There he feuded with Ambrose, called the name of the wind in anger, and became a student of Master Namer Elodin. In The Wise Man's Fear he serves the Maer Alveron in Vintas, spends time with Felurian in the Fae realm, and trains in the Ketan among the Adem.
