Tarbean is a city in The Kingkiller Chronicle. After the Chandrian kill his troupe, the eleven-year-old Kvothe lives for three years in its slums as a beggar and pickpocket.

Lore & Background

He leaves that life after hearing a storyteller there tell how Lanre became Lord Haliax of the Chandrian. The storyteller is arrested for heresy, and Kvothe resolves to enter the university.
