Alma Coin is the leader of District 13 who commands the rebellion against the Capitol. She is introduced in the third installment of the series, Mockingjay, as the president of the supposedly destroyed District 13. Coin is a calculating and authoritative figure who views Katniss Everdeen primarily as a propaganda tool—the Mockingjay—to inspire the districts to rise up.
