Background
He married first Rowen of Morrow and then Sareth ap Scorron; his brother is Osson Renar, Count of Renar. When the six-year-old Jorg broke a snow globe, Olidan ordered him to break the legs of his dog Justice with a hammer and, when Jorg would not break the last leg, burned the dog with a torch. After Osson Renar's attack killed Rowen and William, Olidan took rights to the Cathun River, three thousand ducats and five Araby stallions as compensation instead of making war on Renar. In Prince of Thorns he sends Jorg against the Castle Red in Gelleth, hoping he will be discredited or killed. When Jorg returns in triumph and mocks his advisor Sageous and his Scorron marriage before the court, Olidan stabs him in the heart, a wound Jorg survives only because he had eaten a necromancer's heart.
