Background
The marriage was arranged when Jorg visited his grandfather Hansa of Morrow to seal an alliance; Miana was eight when they first met. She was formally married to Jorg at twelve, at the dawn of the Battle of the Haunt, to secure Morrow's promise of five hundred men-at-arms. During the battle she threw her dowry, a ruby filled with the power of a thousand hearths, into the fighting in the courtyard of the Haunt, destroying much of the attacking army of Arrow. She bears Jorg's son, William II Ancrath, and at fourteen becomes Empress of the Holy Empire.
