Jorg Ancrath
Outlaw prince of the Brothers who became King of Renar and Emperor of the Holy Empire.
Honorous Jorg Ancrath is the protagonist of Mark Lawrence's The Broken Empire trilogy. The eldest son of King Olidan Ancrath and Queen Rowen of Morrow, he leads an outlaw band, the Brothers, becomes King of Renar and finally Emperor of the Holy Empire.

Background
As a child at the Tall Castle Jorg was taught by the tutor Lundist and educated by Priest Gomst. At nine he survived Renar's ambush, the attack in which his mother and his younger brother William were killed. He was disinherited when his father married Sareth ap Scorron, and he later killed his infant half-brother Degran by accident through necromancy. Leading the Brothers, he destroyed the Castle Red in Gelleth, became King of Renar at fourteen and fought the Battle of the Haunt at eighteen; at twenty the Holy Empire was reunified with him as Emperor. He married Miana of Wennith, the mother of his son William II Ancrath, while his long-time love was Katherine ap Scorron. He was stabbed to death by the necromancer Chella in the Emperor's Palace at Vyene.
