Background

Players are told only to form teams of ten. Each player is shackled to the rope, which runs through a guillotine hung between the two platforms; when one team is dragged off, the blade cuts the rope and the losers drop. Jang Deok-su, who learned of the game in advance through Player 111, picks only strong men and drops Han Mi-nyeo, who joins Gi-hun's team. Gi-hun's side, with older and weaker players, wins through Oh Il-nam's tactics and a quick-thinking move by Cho Sang-woo.
