Minigames

Minigames in Head-On are accessed via teleporters found in each level during Story Mode. These timed bonus levels require players to collect power-ups while navigating obstacles such as destroying taxicabs, jumping over chasms, and using napalm bombs on helicopters. Successfully reaching the end before the timer expires grants the player all their power-ups. Completing minigames on certain levels is necessary to unlock several characters.

Twisted Metal Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition

The PlayStation 2 version of Twisted Metal: Head-On, called Twisted Metal Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition, came out on February 5, 2008. It was made by Jaffe’s new studio Eat Sleep Play and only sold in North America, so it is NTSC format only. This port adds bonus content: never-before-seen live-action endings from the original Twisted Metal, a making-of documentary, a stripped-down version of the canceled Twisted Metal: Black sequel called Twisted Metal: Lost, and a concept art book. Every physical copy includes a code to download a Twisted Metal soundtrack. The documentary answers a fan question by confirming a hidden message that said “Twisted Metal is coming on psthree.” Unlike the PSP original, this version has no online play.
