Gameplay

The gameplay is similar to previous Tony Hawk games: the player skates in a 3D environment modeled after various cities and attempts to complete goals, which often involve skating on or over objects or performing combos. Scores are calculated by adding the sum of each trick's point value in a combo and multiplying by the number of tricks. Many levels return from earlier games, including an expanded warehouse, School, Downhill Jam, Canada, Los Angeles, Airport, and Philadelphia. Classic mode from Underground 2 is included, and the game supports four-player wireless play. Three of the exclusive levels (Santa Cruz, Kyoto, and Las Vegas) were later recycled into Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, while the Collector's Edition of that game brought back Atlanta.
