Plot
After defeating the Moja Corps, the LocoRoco returned to a peaceful life. Bon Mucho, unwilling to accept defeat, created a terrible song that drains the life force from living things. The Moja boarded their meteorite and attacked the LocoRoco planet again. The LocoRoco discovered a new MuiMui house, but the meteor crashed onto a Nyokki, and the Mojas began sucking life force and eating LocoRoco. The LocoRoco set off on a journey to restore life force and defeat the Moja Corps.
Gameplay
The player controls the planet using the shoulder buttons to tilt the world and maneuver the LocoRoco. Pressing both shoulder buttons simultaneously makes the LocoRoco jump. The circle button separates a single large LocoRoco into smaller ones, while holding it merges them back. New features include swimming underwater, squeezing through crevices, and new abilities. New characters include Bonmucho's mother Majolinè, the BuiBui (former MuiMui turned evil by Majolinè's kiss, distinguished by red color), a purple LocoRoco named Viole, and an old lady named Galanmar. Locations from the first LocoRoco appear, such as Franzea, Perculoka, Shamplin, Tropuca, Chapo-Wahr, Dolangomeri, CaloCaro, Jaojab, Yamboona Tree, and Kelapton, plus new areas BuiBui Fort and MuiMui Home.
