IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey
World War II flight combat with reduced simulation focus.
IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey is a 2009 combat flight simulation video game depicting World War II aircraft, with a reduced emphasis on realistic simulation compared to earlier series entries. It features a campaign mode where players fly for the Allies against the Axis, and a multiplayer mode allowing selection of either faction. The game includes six European theatres of war: Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, Berlin, Sicily, Korsun, and the Battle of the Bulge. A new damage effects engine shows real-time damage such as holes in wings, and the environmental engine produces detailed landscapes. The game was developed by Gaijin Entertainment.
