The Labyrinth
Daedalus's maze, and the secret road to an invasion of Camp Half-Blood.
The Labyrinth is Daedalus's maze, which in The Battle of the Labyrinth presents a possible invasion route into Camp Half-Blood for Luke Castellan's army. For demigods, the Labyrinth is less a shortcut than a psychological trap. Ariadne's string helps a traveller navigate it, and the mortal Rachel Elizabeth Dare, who can see through the Mist, is able to find her way through it. In the battle that ends the book, Luke's Titan army floods out of the Labyrinth into Camp Half-Blood.

Lore & Background
Daedalus built the Labyrinth for King Minos, a former king who later became one of the judges of the Underworld. Luke Castellan sought Ariadne's string to navigate the maze, and Daedalus, living as an automaton under the name Quintus, had already helped him. The Titan army seems to be winning the battle at camp until Daedalus arrives with Mrs. O'Leary and Briares; afterwards Nico di Angelo helps Daedalus pass on, and his death destroys the Labyrinth.
Reader's Guide
The Labyrinth serves as one of the most dangerous yet vital geographical features in the demigod world. In The Battle of the Labyrinth, Annabeth Chase is given a quest to find Daedalus and convince him not to give Ariadne's string to Luke; she takes Grover, Percy and Tyson with her.
