Reader's Guide
In The Battle of the Labyrinth, Percy wakes on Ogygia after escaping the volcano Mount St. Helens and is tended by Calypso, but he leaves after Hephaestus tells him of events in the mortal world. Percy asks the gods to release her at the end of The Last Olympian, but she is still on the island when Leo Valdez is banished there in The House of Hades; Leo swears on the River Styx to return, and at the end of The Blood of Olympus he comes back and frees her, after which she becomes mortal.
