Dawn Island is an island in the East Blue of One Piece and the birthplace of Monkey D. Luffy.
Lore & Background
Luffy's hometown, Foosha Village, is where the Red Haired Pirates stayed and where Shanks gave the boy his straw hat, and it was there that Shanks saved him from a Sea King at the cost of his left arm. A Sea King known as the Lord of the Coast lives in the waters near Windmill Village, and the bandit Higuma led the Higuma Bandits in the island's mountains.
