Shamshel is the 4th Angel and the second to attack Tokyo-3, arriving only three weeks after Sachiel's attack marked the Angels' return. It comes after Sachiel and before Ramiel.

Background
Shamshel is a roughly Evangelion-sized, squid-like Angel that can switch between a horizontal flight form and an upright combat form. Its weapons are two long, glowing pink tentacles that extend from its arms; they are physical structures charged with energy, strong enough to lift and throw an Evangelion and to pierce an Eva's torso. Its skin is mostly purple, with two false eye spots on top of its head, eight small insect-like legs below the head, and its core on the torso just under the head. It behaves more aggressively than Sachiel.
