Background

Writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin created Moon Knight, who first appeared in Werewolf by Night #32 in August 1975 as a mercenary villain before being reworked as a hero. He is usually a street-level vigilante who relies on fitness, hand-to-hand skill and detective work more than superpowers. Alongside his costumed identity he keeps other personas, including the businessman Steven Grant and the cab driver Jake Lockley.
