Background

Neil Gaiman and Todd McFarlane created Angela, who first appeared in Spawn #9 from Image Comics in 1993 as a foe and sometimes ally of Spawn. After a legal fight between McFarlane and Gaiman ended in Gaiman's favour in 2013, Gaiman sold the character to Marvel, where she debuted in Age of Ultron (2013). The 2014 story "Original Sin" gave her a new origin as Thor's sister.
