Background
Will Murray and Steve Ditko created Squirrel Girl, who first appeared in Marvel Super-Heroes vol. 2 #8, the Winter Special of 1991. Murray wanted to write light-hearted stories at a time when grim, dramatic comics were the norm. She has been a member of the Avengers and the Great Lakes Avengers, and her own series, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, follows her balancing superhero work with college.
