Background
Instead of a traditional bracket, the cover was decided through collectible cards in Madden NFL Mobile and Ultimate Team. Rob Gronkowski, Patrick Peterson, Beckham Jr. and Antonio Brown were the four finalists, and Beckham Jr. beat Gronkowski in the final round on May 13, 2015, also becoming the cover athlete of Madden NFL Mobile. A Deluxe Edition bundled $50 worth of Ultimate Team packs for an extra $40. EA Trax came back after three games away, with the soundtrack also on Spotify. Critics reviewed it positively, praising the improved passing game and Draft Champions, and it was nominated for Sports Game of the Year at the 19th D.I.C.E. Awards. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions were built on Madden NFL 25.
