The Vuvalini
The matriarchal clan of the Green Place of Many Mothers, Furiosa's people.
The Vuvalini of Many Mothers are a matriarchal survivor civilization in the Mad Max films, from the Green Place of Many Mothers where Imperator Furiosa was born; her mother Mary Jabassa was a top member. In Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) only seven Vuvalini are left, and they join Furiosa, Max and the wives against Immortan Joe.

Lore & Background
In Fury Road, Furiosa comes across a Vuvalini watchtower and identifies herself to the watchwoman, Valkyrie, who calls the remaining Vuvalini to meet her. They recognise Furiosa as one of their own but tell her that the Green Place was the now-uninhabitable swamp the group had passed the night before. The Vuvalini decide to trek across the salt flats to find a new home, but Max persuades them to return to the Citadel. When Joe intercepts them, five Vuvalini are killed in the ensuing battle.
Reader's Guide
Critics noted the gun-toting Vuvalini among the film's atypical female roles; one review called them a band of gray-haired motorcycle matriarchs. In Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024) the Green Place of Many Mothers is one of the last areas with fresh water and plant cultivation, until raiders discover it while the children Furiosa and Valkyrie are picking peaches.
