Rafael Benítez Maudes (born 16 April 1960) is a Spanish professional football manager and former player. He guided Liverpool to victory in the UEFA Champions League in 2005 and won the FA Cup in 2006.

Benítez was appointed manager of Liverpool in June 2004, replacing Gérard Houllier. Under his leadership, Liverpool won the UEFA Champions League in 2005 and the FA Cup in 2006, and reached the 2007 Champions League final. Liverpool's best league finish under Benítez was second place in 2008–09. He left Liverpool in June 2010.
