Liverpool Football Club Women is a professional English women's football team based in Birkenhead, Wirral, England. Founded in 1989 as Newton L.F.C., the club became the official women's division of Liverpool FC in 1994. They were a founding member of the Women's Super League in 2011 and won back-to-back WSL titles in 2013 and 2014 after becoming the first English club to offer full-time professional contracts to female players.

The club was founded in 1989 by former England international Liz Deighan as Newton LFC, later renamed Knowsley United WFC. In 1994, they linked with Liverpool FC and became Liverpool Ladies. They reached the FA Women's Cup final in 1994 as Knowsley United, losing to Doncaster Belles, and reached the semi-finals in 1995, losing to Arsenal. After spells in the second tier, they were founding members of the Women's Super League in 2011. Under manager Matt Beard, Liverpool became the first English club to offer full-time professional contracts to female players in 2013, leading to WSL titles in 2013 and 2014. The 2019–20 WSL season was curtailed due to COVID-19, and Liverpool Women were relegated on a points-per-game basis; they won the FA Women's Championship in 2022 to earn promotion back to the WSL.
