The Shinjuku Showdown is the final battle of Jujutsu Kaisen, fought on December 24 in Shinjuku between Ryomen Sukuna and the sorcerers of Jujutsu High. It opens with his duel against Satoru Gojo.

Lore & Background

Freed from the Prison Realm, Gojo challenges Sukuna, who now inhabits Megumi Fushiguro. Mei Mei broadcasts the fight to the other sorcerers. The two trade Domain Expansions on nearly equal terms until Sukuna summons Mahoraga, which adapts to Gojo's Infinity. Just as Gojo is judged the winner and lowers his guard, Sukuna kills him with a slash that cuts the world itself.

The others then go in one after another: Hajime Kashimo, Hiromi Higuruma, Yuta Okkotsu, Maki Zen'in, Atsuya Kusakabe, Choso, who dies shielding Yuji, and Aoi Todo. Elsewhere Fumihiko Takaba distracts Kenjaku long enough for Yuta to behead him. Yuta returns in Gojo's body, Yuji traps Sukuna in his own Domain, and Nobara Kugisaki's Resonance on Sukuna's last finger lets Yuji cut Megumi free. Sukuna refuses Yuji's mercy and disintegrates.
