Golden Wind Bucciarati Squad Formation

Lore & Background

The genesis of this squad stems from the rigid, often brutal hierarchy of Passione. When Bucciarati is accused of killing his superior, Polpo, he realizes that traditional justice within the organization is impossible. The Boss, seeking to test Bucciarati's loyalty and competence simultaneously, assigns him the seemingly simple task of protecting Trish Una. However, this mission is a double-edged sword; if they fail or if Bucciarati disobeys, death awaits.

As the journey progresses, the squad evolves from a mere escort detail into a family bound by shared trauma and a growing desire for justice. Each member brought to the group—whether through coercion, rescue, or voluntary enlistment—adds a crucial layer of capability. The dynamic shifts as Bucciarati's moral compass begins to clash with the Boss's orders, eventually leading the squad down a path where they must decide whether to serve their master or protect the innocent girl in their care.

Reader's Guide

The arc begins immediately after Bucciarati is framed for murder. To avoid execution, he accepts the mission to transport Trish Una from Naples to Rome under the watchful eye of the Boss's subordinates. Initially, the squad consists only of Bucciarati and his loyal subordinate, Guido Mista, though Mista joins reluctantly due to a prophecy about his death. As they travel north, they encounter various threats that force them to recruit new members with specific Stand abilities necessary for survival.

Key recruitment events include saving Giorno Giovanna from execution by the gangster Abbacchio's rival and later integrating Narancia Ghirga after he proves his worth in combat. The team dynamic solidifies through shared battles against assassins sent by the Boss to test them or eliminate Trish if she becomes a liability. The formation is not just about gathering numbers; it is about building trust among individuals who were previously strangers or enemies.

This unity allows them to uncover the dark truth of Passione, setting the stage for their eventual confrontation with the organization's true leadership.
