Yorknew City Arc

The underground auction, the Mafia's bounty and Kurapika's revenge on the Phantom Troupe.

After their training at Heavens Arena, Gon and his friends reconvene in Yorknew City, where they clash with the Phantom Troupe. The Troupe murders the bodyguards sent by the Nostrade family to buy items for Neon at the city's underground auction.

Lore & Background

The Mafia's Ten Dons place bounties on the Troupe and hire the Zoldyck assassins Silva and Zeno, who withdraw when the Dons are killed by a job taken by Illumi, Maha and Kalluto. Kurapika and Uvogin fight one-on-one in a small canyon outside the city, and Kurapika captures him with Chain Jail to question him about the other members.

Kurapika kills two members and seals Chrollo's Nen with his chain, forbidding him from using it or contacting his subordinates, but has to abandon the pursuit to rescue Gon and Killua. Pakunoda dies by violating the Judgement Chain's conditions and is buried in the Troupe's Yorknew hideout. The Phantom Troupe finale of the arc was later retold as a stage play.
