Background
Like most elves Serie shows little emotion and can seem cold, but she judges others fairly and has a sharp eye for potential. Over the ages she has taken many apprentices, among them Flamme, whom she claims she took on a whim; yet she remembers every apprentice's favourite spell, and she held the final stage of the First-Class Mage Exam in a field of flowers made with Flamme's favourite magic. She sees magic as a tool for killing and rejects Frieren's view that its greatest joy lies in pursuing it, and Flamme called her a warmonger. In that final stage she interviewed each examinee herself; she failed Frieren but saw promise in Fern, who could see the instability in Serie's mana.
