Scales of Obedience
Aura's golden balance, which weighs souls so that the weaker one must obey.
The Scales of Obedience are a magical item used by the demon Aura, one of the Seven Sages of Destruction, to cast her Spell of Obedience, Auserlese. Aura places her own soul and her target's on the scales to weigh their mana, and the one with less mana must obey the other.

Background
The scales look like a golden pan balance with two half-sphere pans, each hung from the beam by four strings, and they glow white when Auserlese is cast. Whoever loses the weighing becomes a puppet whose body stays under control, alive or dead, until it crumbles to dust. Because her mana was so great, it was said that in five hundred years Aura had never weighed a soul with more mana than hers, until she faced Frieren. 'The Scales of Obedience' is also the title of Chapter 22 of the manga.
