The Aura the Guillotine Arc is the second story arc of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, covering Chapters 14 to 23 and parts of Episodes 7 to 11. Twenty-eight years after Himmel's death, Frieren, Fern and Stark reach Graf Granat's Domain in the Northern Lands, long at war with the demon Aura the Guillotine.

Background
Aura has sent envoys led by Lügner to offer peace. When Frieren tries to kill them she is thrown into the mansion's dungeon, warning that demons use words only to deceive, as she learned from a demon child the Hero Party once spared. Lügner's real aim is to have Graf Granat lower the town's protective barrier so Aura's army can destroy it, and the executioner Draht tries to kill Frieren in her cell. Fern and Stark fight Aura's executioners, while Frieren meets Aura herself. Aura sees Frieren's suppressed mana as weakness and weighs their souls on her Scales of Obedience, but Frieren releases her true mana, takes control of Aura and orders her to kill herself.
