Ix

Ix is the planet of the Ixians, who by the time of Dune are the Imperium's leading supplier of technology, producing devices that test the limits of the ban on thinking machines. Dune Messiah refers to the "Ixian Confederacy". In the Prelude to Dune prequels Ix is ruled by House Vernius, its surface is left untouched, and its industry of laboratories and factories is underground.
