Dragon Ball Super

Gods of Destruction, other universes and Super Saiyan Blue.

Dragon Ball Super is set in the ten years after Majin Buu's defeat. Akira Toriyama wrote the main plot and Toyotarou drew the manga, which began in V Jump in June 2015 and went on hiatus after Toriyama's death in March 2024. Toei's anime adaptation aired on Fuji TV from July 2015 to March 2018.

Story

Beerus, the God of Destruction, goes looking for the "Super Saiyan God" he saw in a vision; Goku reaches that form through a ritual with the other Saiyans, and their fight ends without a winner. Goku and Vegeta then reach Super Saiyan Blue and train with Whis, before Beerus's twin Champa, God of Destruction of Universe 6, calls a tournament between the two universes for Earth and the Super Dragon Balls.

Films and future

Two films carry the Super name, Broly (2018) and Super Hero (2022). A sequel anime adapting the manga's Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc has been announced. The manga had over 12 million copies in circulation by April 2025.
