Earth

The humble blue planet that defied gods and monsters to become the universe's greatest battleground.

Yet, this unassuming world becomes the epicenter of galactic cataclysms, drawing the attention of Saiyans, Frieza's remnants, and interdimensional horrors. While its surface hosts bustling cities and martial arts schools, Earth is home to one of several sets of Dragon Balls in existence, alongside those of Namek and the planet-sized Super Dragon Balls scattered throughout Universes 6 and 7.

Quick Facts

Unique feature: Earth Dragon Balls

Lore & Background

The planet's spiritual equilibrium was forever altered when a Namekian refugee, who had not yet become the Guardian, split into two: the benevolent Kami and his dark half, King Piccolo. It was only after this initial separation purified him that he ascended to the role of Guardian and subsequently created the Dragon Balls to aid humanity, defining Earth's magical potential for centuries. For ages, the world remained blissfully isolated until Raditz's arrival shattered the silence, exposing Earth to a cosmos far deadlier than imagined. Above the Earth floats Kami's Lookout, which houses the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Doctor Gero of the former Red Ribbon Army developed his Android operatives, among them Androids 17 and 18, to seek revenge against Goku.

Reader's Guide

Its geography is a tapestry of contrasts: the neon sprawl of West City and the tropical serenity of Kame House stand alongside the treacherous peaks where legendary masters hide and the mystical islands that house ancient secrets.
