Toriyama designed Frieza to speak politely, creating an unsettling contrast with his cruelty, a trait that permeates the Force's command structure. The group's internal culture is bizarrely thematic; beyond Frieza himself, his minions and the Ginyu Force members bear names related to fruits and dairy products, items typically stored in a freezer. This naming convention underscores the character's origin as a pun on 'freezer.' While the Force utilizes advanced technology for travel and combat, its primary asset is biological strength. From the Saiyans used as mercenaries to alien warriors like the Namekians targeted during the namekian saga, the organization relies on living beings to execute its will. The fear of a potential uprising by the Saiyans due to their increasing power, combined with a prophecy about a legendary Super Saiyan, drove Frieza to destroy Planet Vegeta, effectively dismantling his own primary labor force in a move instigated by Lord Beerus.

In Their Own Story

The Force's defining moment of betrayal occurred when Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta. While the Saiyans were away on missions—Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz surviving because they were off-world—the tyrant obliterated their homeworld, claiming it was struck by a meteor. He only knowingly spared those three, unaware that Goku, Bardock's second son, had been sent to Earth earlier. Years later, the Force re-emerged as the primary antagonist of the Namek Saga. Frieza traveled to Planet Namek to collect the seven Namekian Dragon Balls for immortality, massacring villages until Gohan, Krillin, and Vegeta interfered. Despite his army's strength, including the Ginyu Force who dealt with Earth's warriors, Frieza could not speak Namekian and was forced to locate the Great Elder. After defeating Nail and dominating the fused Piccolo, Frieza transformed through his forms, eventually revealing he had destroyed the Saiyan homeworld. His attempt to secure immortality failed when Goku arrived, leading to a battle where Frieza killed Krillin, triggering Goku's first transformation into a Super Saiyan. Though sliced in half and seemingly destroyed by Goku's retaliation, Frieza survived via cybernetic reconstruction with his father King Cold before being executed by Future Trunks on Earth.

In the Namek Saga, they act as the main obstacle for Goku and friends seeking the Dragon Balls. The organization's structure is rigid; the Ginyu Force acts as an elite unit, yet even they are expendable. Later, in the timeline where Goku dies of a heart disease, Frieza and King Cold are killed by Goku via Instant Transmission before reaching Earth. In the alternate future, after surviving Namek's explosion through space travel, Frieza is rebuilt with cybernetics but is ultimately sliced into pieces by Trunks. His biological cells, however, survive as a catalyst for the creation of Cell, who eventually destroys the last traces of Frieza's tissue when defeated by Gohan. In the main timeline, Frieza returns in 'Resurrection \'F\'' after being resurrected by Sorbet and Tagoma, undergoing four months of training to achieve his Golden form, though he lacks the stamina to maintain it against Goku and Vegeta.
