Leviathan

The whale-like Evil God-beast that swallows Dante whole.

Leviathan, also called the Evil God-beast, is a colossal flying, whale-like demon in Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening. After Vergil defeats Dante at the tower's summit and Dante's dormant powers awaken, he sets out in pursuit only to be swallowed by the beast at the start of Mission 8, and must fight his way out through its insides, past Gigapedes and other demons, to the components of its heart. Sparda sealed Leviathan away as part of the ritual that sealed Temen-ni-gru.

Background

In the HD Collection, escaping it earns the award 'Inside Out'. Its interior is a deformed landscape of enormous intestines and a debris-filled stomach, with vulnerable pustules that must be destroyed to progress, and its heart lies behind a wall where a key item is placed. It is described as a biological weapon whose body is a gateway to the Hell of Envy, powered by the souls of the envious.
