Temen-ni-gru
The unholy tower that holds the true gateway to the Demon World.
Temen-ni-gru is the ancient tower at the heart of Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening, an unholy structure built by devil worshippers that harbors the true gateway to the Demon World. Sparda sealed it two thousand years earlier with his own blood and that of a human priestess, imprisoning its gatekeepers and leaving the two halves of his amulet as the key. Arkham and Vergil raise the tower from beneath a modern city and work to undo the seals so Vergil can reach his father's power, and Dante climbs it to stop him, fighting the gatekeepers whose souls become his weapons.

Background
Unlike the lesser Hell Gates and artificial portals of later games, the gate inside Temen-ni-gru is said to be natural. Sparda's seal required imprisoning the tower's gatekeepers, sealing away Leviathan and locking away his own demonic power; the Perfect Amulet he split in two was an added safeguard, since both halves are needed to awaken his sword. In the game, Jester reveals himself as Arkham, who has manipulated Dante, Vergil and Lady into reactivating the tower so he can enter the demon world and seize the Force Edge; Dante crosses over, Arkham is defeated by both brothers, and Vergil stays behind in the demon world as the portal closes.
