Sparda's human wife, the mother Dante and Vergil lost to Mundus.

Eva is the human wife of Sparda and the mother of Dante and Vergil, and through Vergil the grandmother of Nero. She gave each of her sons half of Sparda's amulet as a birthday gift. Eva was murdered in the family home in Red Grave City by demons sent by Mundus; she hid Dante safely but was killed while searching for Vergil. Mundus later created Trish in her likeness in a failed attempt to lure Dante to his death.

Background

Eva is most often seen as the photograph on Dante's desk, though she has a voice in the first game; she first appears in person in a flashback in the Devil May Cry 3 manga and makes her in-game debut in a Devil May Cry 5 flashback. In Devil May Cry 5 she is voiced by Wendee Lee in English and Atsuko Tanaka in Japanese, and in the Netflix series by Kari Wahlgren and Mamiko Noto. Despite her importance to the paths her sons take, little is known about her.
