Source Wall

The Source Wall is the barrier at the edge of the Promethean Galaxy that keeps the Source, the creator force of Jack Kirby's Fourth World, from being seen directly. Anyone who tries to look past it is turned to stone and fused into the Wall. The Source itself first appeared in New Gods #1 (February 1971) and is portrayed as the deity behind everything in the known universe and as the origin of the "Godwave" that gave DC's gods their powers. In the Death of the New Gods storyline, Metron becomes the first being to make contact with the Source, which later breaches the Wall to reunite with its Anti-Life half. The Wall also appears in the Justice League Unlimited episode "Destroyer", where Metron leads Lex Luthor to it.
