Serrano pepper

The serrano pepper (Capsicum annuum) gets its name from the mountains, or sierras, of Puebla and Hidalgo, Mexico, where it originated. It is the second most used chili in Mexican cuisine, often found in hot sauces, pico de gallo, and salsa.
