Brasserie Saint James occupies the site of an old icehouse and draws its own water supply. The brewpub opened on October 17, 2012 and quickly established a reputation for barrel-aged and Belgian-style beers, keeping over one hundred emptied wine barrels for maturation. Its beers have earned medals at major competitions, including gold medals at the Great American Beer Festival for Daily Wages (French & Belgian Saison) in 2014 and 2017, and for Lambic Grand Cru (Belgian Style Lambic) in 2018.
