Under his guidance, the Thousand Sons became a legion of scholars and psykers, rejecting traditional warfare for intellectual dominance. However, the Emperor's decree banning sorcery placed them in direct conflict with their father's vision. When the Legion began suffering from a mysterious mutation that threatened to turn every member into a daemon, Magnus made the fateful decision to communicate directly with the Emperor using his psychic powers.

In Their Own Story

The air on Prospero shimmered with the heat of a thousand burning libraries. Magnus stood before the great crystal spire, his eyes glowing with the light of a dying star. He could feel the corruption spreading through his sons, their minds fraying like old parchment. 'Father,' he whispered into the void, his voice carrying across the stars. 'I seek only to save them.' But the Warp was not a silent listener; it was a hungry beast. As the message left his mind, the sky tore open, revealing the crimson eyes of Tzeentch. The realization struck him too late: in trying to prevent their doom, he had become its architect.
