Reception

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions received mixed or average reviews on Metacritic. James Stephanie Sterling of Destructoid called the Xbox 360 version a decent shooter for franchise fans, noting it was not designed for single-player and criticizing the lack of online multiplayer. Carolyn Petit of GameSpot praised its mindless fun and environment but faulted shallow gameplay, local-only co-op, cheap deaths, and poor checkpoint placement. Nathan Grayson of GamesRadar+ liked the quick combat, classes, and customization but found the gameplay repetitive, runtime short, and tutorialization pace-breaking. Arthur Gies of IGN wrote that arcade shooters should not be boring, needy, and pushy, and that Kill Team often is all of those.
