Lore & Background
Playing in their home ground, Bayern were the first finalists with home advantage since 1984. Extra officials behind each goal, trialled in the Europa League since 2009–10, were used in every match from the play-off round. The win gave Chelsea places at the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2012 UEFA Super Cup.
