Andre

One of the nine bishops ruling Dema.

Andre is a bishop in the fictional city of Dema, which is part of the conceptual world of Trench created by Twenty One Pilots. Dema is ruled by nine bishops, and Andre is one of them, alongside Nico, Lisden, Keons, Reisdro, Sacarver, Nills, Vetomo, and Listo.

Lore & Background

Andre is one of the nine bishops who rule the fictional city of Dema, a location central to the concept album Trench. Dema draws its name from dakhma, or 'Tower of Silence,' in Zoroastrianism, where dead bodies were disposed of by vultures. The bishops, including Andre, are part of a narrative explored through the album's marketing and music videos. The chief bishop, Nico, is revealed to be Blurryface, the personification of lead singer Tyler Joseph's insecurities from the band's previous album.
